"The 2012 Mariflor Malbec features powerful lactic notes, aromas of ripe plums, blueberries, and plenty of violets. Concentrated and ripe, it develops balsamic aromas over time. The palate is very compact; there are no flaws. The tannins are abundant, the acidity is good, and it makes the wine well-balanced. It is a modernized classic, fermented in concrete tanks with native yeasts and aged in barrels for 15 months. It will improve with time.” (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)

About the wine:

Almost black. A fragrant, elegant style with leathery notes on the palate. Lots of tannins and acidity. A drying finish.

Great! Open it a good three hours in advance. The tannins are smooth, and it’s very pleasant on the palate. The nose is relatively subtle. Let it age for a few more years.
