Clos de Mez Estate
Clos de Mez is a family-owned estate that has been run by women for three generations and is now managed by Marie-Elodie Zighera. The vineyard, spanning nearly 6 hectares, produces wines in the Fleurie and Morgon appellations.

Most of the soil at Clos de Mez consists of granite that has broken down into pink sand called “gore,” and some of the plots in the Fleurie appellation are located on steep slopes. The philosophy of Clos de Mez is based on a single conviction: “70% of a wine’s quality depends on the quality of the grapes.” Since 2006, the estate has prioritized soil management and yield control through severe pruning and rigorous debudding, with grapes harvested exclusively by hand. The vineyards, with an average age of 40 years, are planted with black Gamay (white-juiced). Marie-Elodie Zighera draws on her knowledge as an oenologist to understand the expertise of previous generations and to offer an authentic wine full of character, suitable for aging, without any unnecessary elements or exuberant aromas!
