Favorite the previous Guide with his 2017 Chassignol Moulin-à-Vent, Maxime Troncy confirms his (very) strong potential and produces a ‘simple’ Beaujolais that is anything but simplistic. This cuvée comes from venerable 70-year-old vines planted on a hill that once housed a Roman oppidum. After 8 months of aging in oak barrels, it unfolds intense and generous aromas of black fruit, sweet spices, toasted notes, and Zan. On the palate? Volume, concentration, body, and velvety tannins enveloped by ripe fruit and well-integrated oak. Character. " (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)
