The Louis-Claude Desvignes estate in Beaujolais is like its stones: robust, weathered, and invigorated by time, where everything remains frozen in time yet constantly evolving. An unconditional fan of the Morgon appellation, Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes brings its skills and passion to bear on 13 hectares of vines spread across two of the six climats that divide the cru: Douby, and the prestigious Côte du Py climat, where it owns five hectares. It is on these rich soils, a mixture of iron oxide-impregnated clay, schist, and disintegrated igneous rock, that the vines of Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes flourish, with an average age of sixty years, producing the appellation's unique grape variety, Gamay noir à jus blanc.
