Louis-Claude Desvignes Estate
The Louis-Claude Desvignes estate in Beaujolais is like its stones: robust, weathered, and invigorated by time, where everything remains frozen in time yet constantly evolving. Behind this 1722 gate and the vaulted ceiling typical of old winegrowers' houses, surprising and powerful Morgon wines age and improve. Eight generations have succeeded one another at Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes, passing on their expertise, which is inspired by tradition and enriched by constant questioning.

An unconditional fan of the Morgon appellation, Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes brings its skills and passion to bear on 13 hectares of vines spread across two of the six climats that divide the cru: Douby, and the prestigious Côte du Py climat, where it owns five hectares. It is on these rich soils, a mixture of iron oxide-impregnated clay, schist, and disintegrated igneous rock, that the vines of Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes flourish, with an average age of sixty years, producing the appellation's unique grape variety, Gamay noir à jus blanc.
