“Croix des Vérillats 2011 offers notes of cherry and blackberry, with lovely minerality and hints of chalk, dark spices, and vanilla. Alluring aromas of wisteria and violet rise from the glass, with a lingering finish. The 10,000 bottles produced of this beauty with a long finish will be worth tasting through 2018.” (Wine Advocate 2012 - Robert Parker)

Wine rated (2014 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the wine:

A well-defined, lively palate with an elegant texture; the wine’s delicate aromas and overall precision are particularly noteworthy.

About the estate:

The ambitious and well-planned renovation of the vineyard and winery initiated by Jean-Jacques Parinet is now yielding the expected results. Progress has been remarkable, and the estate continues to lead the appellation. He is supported by a talented team, including Édouard Parinet, their cellar master Brice Lafon, and their communications manager Morgane Chambriard. A key player for the appellation and the region, he is a formidable ambassador who builds value and enhances the region’s image both in France and around the world.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Among the single-vineyard wines, the Croix Des Vérillats exhibits a strong mineral character (though one should be mindful of the aging process).

About the estate:

Since its acquisition by the Parinet family in 2009, this vast estate has invested significant resources in revitalizing the Moulin-à-Vent appellation, much like Château des Jacques did in its day. In a modern Gamay style, with long, carefully managed aging in oak, the numerous single-vineyard cuvées express the complexity and diversity of the soils. In 2016, the estate’s first white wine vineyards (4.5 hectares) in the Mâcon and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations were introduced under the name Roc des Boutires.
