Wine rated (2024 guide) 92/100

Rated estate (2021 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the wine:

More fruit ripeness than is typical, though perhaps it doesn’t fully express the unique terroir of Les Rochelles. It has a lovely texture and full body, though the finish lacks a touch of smoothness.

About the estate:

The dynamic and friendly Lardet family—Delphine, Jocelin, Stéphane, and their father—has lived up to our expectations with wines that have matured beautifully in recent vintages (the barrels have aged…). More refined, yet without losing any of their power, the wines assert themselves with authority. Unfortunately, the estate was not spared the harsh weather conditions that affected the region. Yields are low but of the highest quality. Wine lovers should act quickly while waiting for the 2018s, which were still aging during our visit.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Formerly known as Dom. du Petit Chêne, this 8-hectare vineyard, shaped like a windmill, was taken over in 2012 by Paul Lardet, an industrialist who heads a metalworking company that manufactures winemaking equipment. He renamed it Le Nid in 2014 and runs it with his three children using sustainable farming practices and tailored winemaking techniques. A winery known for its consistent quality
