About the wine:
Precise and delicate, yet true to the character of the vintage, which lacks a touch of roundness on the palate. It is well-made but lacks the expression of a specific terroir.
About the estate:
The dynamic and friendly Lardet family—Delphine, Jocelin, Stéphane, and their father—has lived up to our expectations with wines that have reached greater maturity in recent vintages (the barrels have aged…). More refined, yet without losing their power, the wines assert themselves with authority. Unfortunately, the estate has not escaped the harsh weather conditions that affected the region. Yields are low but of the highest quality. Wine lovers should act quickly while waiting for the 2018s, which were still aging during our visit.

About the estate:
Formerly known as Dom. du Petit Chêne, this 8-hectare vineyard, laid out in a windmill pattern, was taken over in 2012 by Paul Lardet, an industrialist who heads a metalworking company that manufactures winemaking equipment. He renamed it Le Nid in 2014 and runs it with his three children using sustainable farming practices, with customized aging methods. A winery known for its consistent quality

This bold, rich, and well-structured Moulin-a-Vent was crafted for long-term aging. Some Beaujolais enthusiasts may find it too tannic at this stage, but we are convinced it has a bright future ahead, as it also offers abundant blackcurrant fruit throughout its long finish. It can be enjoyed now, but is best enjoyed starting in 2025.
