“‘This great Moulin-à-Vent is as deep as it is elegant’ (James Suckling)”
"Aromas of geosmin, raspberry blossoms, catkins, and crushed nettles. A wine for hikers: if you enjoy walking early in the morning, crossing small streams over old stone bridges, and following trails overgrown with stinging nettles and tangles of wild roses, crabapples, and hawthorns, you’ll know exactly what I mean. Sweet berries that stain your fingertips and lips, damp clay beneath your feet exhaling its earthy scent in the cool mist. Tannins like the curves of a violin, brilliant.” (Jancis Robinson 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
COMMENTARY: The estate: 5 hectares in Morgon, located in the finest lieux-dits—Corcelettes, Grand Cras, and Côte de Py! That was in 2013. Since settling in, through thick and thin, Mee Godard has been moving forward, making progress, and building her legacy. A hectare of Moulin-à-Vent here, a new building there, and wines that continue to refine themselves. The Godard style features very pure wines—never sterile, light yet structured—that exude their terroir. Add to that a richness that was perhaps lacking in his early vintages and which happens to be the cornerstone of the superb 2017s. Everything is excellent at Godard—it’s a shame there’s so little of it!

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
At Michelon, the wine is denser and more complex, with finely structured tannins that ensure excellent aging potential.
About the estate:
Trained as an oenologist but with no background in winemaking, Mee fulfilled her dream in February 2013 when she single-handedly took over the plots of a winemaker who had no successor. Her small estate consists of very old vines in Morgon’s finest terroirs (Corcelette, Grand Cras, Côte du Py). A Moulin-à-Vent cuvée was added to the lineup in 2016. With her free-spirited yet well-defined wines, Mee Godard is gaining momentum!
