“Made from Merlot (95%) and a touch of Cabernet Franc, this 2019 vintage reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruit accented by spicy notes. Supported by a solid, full-bodied, and dense structure, the palate lingers into a long, fruity finish. Harmony and potential. ” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022).

About the wine:
Made from Merlot (95%) and a touch of Cabernet Franc, this 2019 vintage reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruit accented by spicy notes. Supported by a solid, full-bodied, and dense structure, the palate lingers into a long, fruity finish. Harmony and potential.
About the estate:
A family-owned estate for three generations, with 25 hectares managed since 1989 by Brigitte Mestreguilhem (whose family also owns Château Pipeau, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru). 2014 saw the arrival of Jean Mestreguilhem, Brigitte’s son, an agricultural engineer who cut his teeth at major estates in Bordeaux, California, and South Africa, and who is now taking charge of the estate’s technical management.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
The wine has a smoky, slightly herbaceous character with aromas of ripe black fruit, tobacco, and bark. Medium-bodied, with supple tannins and a soft, fruity finish. Notes of crushed stone and chocolate on the finish. Fresher than previous vintages. Best enjoyed now.

A wonderful entry-level wine for discovering the Merlot grape variety. It has a deep ruby color. The nose offers notes of crisp red fruit. The palate is well-balanced but still a bit closed. Decant to allow it to reach its full potential. It offers excellent value for money.
