“After eighteen months in the tank, this Bordeaux—composed almost entirely of Merlot (95%)—reveals intense aromas of slightly candied red and black fruits against a backdrop of sweet spices. This indulgent profile is echoed on the palate, which is concentrated and dense, with fine, silky tannins. A wine that can be enjoyed while still young. ” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017) Pleasure at an affordable price!

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
After eighteen months in the barrel, this Bordeaux—made predominantly from Merlot (95%)—reveals intense aromas of black and red fruits with a hint of candied notes, set against a backdrop of sweet spices. This indulgent character carries over to the palate, which is concentrated and dense, with fine, silky tannins. This is a wine that can be enjoyed while still young.
About the estate:
A family-owned estate for three generations, with 25 hectares managed since 1989 by Brigitte Mestreguilhem (whose family also owns Château Pipeau in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru). 2014 saw the arrival of Jean Mestreguilhem, Brigitte’s son, an agricultural engineer who cut his teeth at major Bordeaux estates, as well as in California and South Africa, and who is now in charge of the estate’s technical management.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
The Mestreguilhem family of Saint-Émilion (Château Pipeau) demonstrate their winemaking talent with the wines from this estate. The 2014 vintage has lovely body and vigorous tannins, yet its concentration shines through. The wine as a whole needs time to come together. It shows great potential thanks to its structure and length.
