2025 Highlights

“It can be enjoyed young, but it has the potential to age well. If you can wait—and I seriously doubt you will! ~ Yves Beck”

“A fresh and appealing presentation: on the nose, a hint of wet stone is accompanied by notes of bright red cherry, immediately imparting a sense of liveliness. The palate is very juicy, supported by lively acidity (pH 3.35) that gives the wine its dynamism, even if the balance isn’t quite as harmonious as that of the best wines from this vintage, which combine ripeness and freshness more perfectly. It remains nonetheless a well-crafted wine, full of liveliness and charm, more compelling than some of its peers in this price range, and overall very pleasant to drink.” (Decanter 2026)

Rated estate (2019 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

The aroma is utterly captivating, with notes of orchard fruits, blood orange, and blackcurrant. The texture is creamy, interwoven with magnificent chalky tannins.

About the estate:

This estate enjoys a unique level of success in the Côtes de Bordeaux region, a success that has remained consistent across vintages. In addition to its own vineyards, the estate includes leased plots, and nearly 100 hectares are vinified under the name Château d'Aiguilhe. This is one of the few right-bank labels that stands out for its substantial production volumes and can claim to rival certain Médoc or Graves wines. This success is owed to the expertise of the duo formed by Stephan von Neipperg and Stéphane Derenoncourt (also owner of Domaine de L’A in the same appellation), who also excel at Château Canon-La-Gaffelière, Clos de L'Oratoire, and La Mondotte in Saint-Émilion, the other properties of the von Neipperg family.
