About wine:

This 30-hectare estate is located around the Montfort family's other property and has been in the current owner's family since 1602. The feudal castle of Monbadon was built in the 14th century by Edward III, King of England. Merlot (70%) and Cabernet, grown organically (conversion in progress), have produced this 2010 vintage, which is initially reserved on the nose, opening up to blackcurrant after swirling. Full-bodied and long on the palate, it reveals a soft and generous texture that coats powerful but not harsh tannins. In two or three years, this characterful wine will pair well with game in sauce.

A typical example of the flaws in the 2010 Bordeaux wines, which are full of ripe Merlot with far too much alcohol in relation to their tannic structure.
