Wine Spectator

“This wine offers a velvety mouthfeel, with notes of blueberry and blackberry and a hint of licorice, all gliding smoothly into a medium-bodied finish. A seductive wine. ” (Wine Spectator 2013 – James Molesworth / La Violette du Manoir second label) A touch of Cabernet Franc adds character to this nearly 100% Merlot. This red wine features beautiful dark fruit and a rounded mouthfeel. Enjoy it now.

Wine rated (2013 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2016 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the wine:

This wine has a velvety texture, with notes of blueberry and blackberry and a hint of licorice, all gliding smoothly into a medium-bodied finish. A seductive wine.

About the estate:

Founded by Stéphane Derenoncourt and François Thienpont, Terra Burdigala offers wines from carefully selected vineyards, which the duo monitors from the vineyard through to bottling, working in partnership with each of the winemakers involved. The lineup now includes a new wine, Lalande l'Etoile, vinified by Guillaume Thienpont.
