Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 06/04/2025
With no added sulfites, Puy d'Amour proves that Bordeaux can offer accessible wines that are immediately appealing and highly seductive. Both full-bodied and slender, the palate is incredibly supple, with great finesse and beautiful balance. The delicate, juicy flesh reveals pure, unadulterated black fruit, lightly infused with spices, enveloping the palate with a soft, silky caress that lingers into the finish, carried by a subtle freshness. The rich and powerful tannic structure will allow it to age slowly and brilliantly. A very good deal at less than €10. It is a youthful wine, of course, but already so smooth and harmonious that it won over the guests when served with roast farm-raised guinea fowl and a pan-fried dish of fresh chanterelle mushrooms.
