With no added sulfites, Puy d’Amour proves that Bordeaux can offer accessible wines that deliver immediate, utterly seductive pleasure. Both full-bodied and elegant, the palate displays incredible suppleness, great finesse, and beautiful balance. The delicate, perfectly juicy texture delivers pure, unadulterated black fruit, lightly infused with spices, enveloping the palate in a soft, silky caress all the way to the finish, carried by a subtle freshness. Its rich and powerful tannic structure will allow it to age slowly and brilliantly. A great deal at under €10. It is a youthful wine, of course, but already so smooth and harmonious that it won over the guests when paired with a farm-raised roasted guinea fowl and a sauté of fresh chanterelle mushrooms. Rating = 4.2
