Château La Grande Métairie

Château La Grande Métairie is an estate located in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers AOC, in the communes of Castelviel and Gornac. For three generations, the Hitier-Buffeteau family has been combining tradition and technology to produce elegant, distinguished Entre-Deux-Mers AOC wines that reflect the taste of the terroir.

The Château La Grande Métairie vineyard, covering some twenty hectares, benefits from its particularly privileged location, allowing it to flourish in the best conditions of sunshine and temperature. The vineyard of Château La Grande Métairie is planted on soil formed from Quaternary alluvial deposits, but mainly clay and limestone. Walking through the village of Castelviel, it is easy to see the limestone outcrops around the 12th-century church.
