Château La Grande Métairie
Château La Grande Métairie is an estate located in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers AOC, in the municipalities of Castelviel and Gornac. For three generations, the Hitier-Buffeteau family has been dedicated to combining tradition and technology to produce elegant, refined Entre-Deux-Mers AOC wines that reflect the character of the terroir.
The Château La Grande Métairie vineyard, covering some twenty hectares, benefits from its particularly privileged location, allowing the vines to thrive under optimal conditions of sunlight and temperature. The vineyards of Château La Grande Métairie rest on soil composed of Quaternary alluvial deposits, but primarily of clay and limestone. While strolling through the village of Castelviel, one can easily spot the limestone outcrops around the 12th-century church.
