Château La Grande Métairie

Château La Grande Métairie is an estate located in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers AOC, in the towns of Castelviel and Gornac. For three generations, the Hitier-Buffeteau family has been combining tradition and technology to produce elegant, refined Entre-Deux-Mers AOC wines that reflect the character of the terroir.

The Château La Grande Métairie vineyard, covering about twenty hectares, benefits from its particularly favorable location, allowing the vines to thrive under ideal conditions of sunlight and temperature. The vineyards of Château La Grande Métairie rest on soil composed of Quaternary alluvial deposits, but primarily of clay and limestone. While strolling through the village of Castelviel, one can easily spot the limestone outcrops around the 12th-century church.
