Château La Mothe du Barry, located in Moulon, is run by Joël Duffau, who also owns Château Les Arromans. This passionate and talented winemaker is dedicated to producing wines of the highest quality.

The vines of Château La Mothe du Barry are mainly located on the commune's magnificent clay-limestone slopes, a promised land for Merlot. From his studies and internships in various wine-growing regions in France and abroad (Burgundy, Beaujolais, La Rioja, California), Joël Duffau has retained an openness to others, an inexhaustible desire for discovery, and a constant questioning of his own abilities.
Vintage after vintage, he has developed vineyard cultivation and winemaking techniques to produce wines of great personality that have made his reputation, such as the Cuvée Le Barry, cited every year in numerous wine guides.

Château La Mothe du Barry 's other cuvées are equally renowned for their high quality, such as its Entre-Deux-Mers, from vines in the commune of Naujean and Postiac, a boulbène soil predestined for white wines. Joël Duffau's passion for this terroir, so typical of Entre-Deux-Mers, and his desire to return to fairer values led him to convert to organic farming.
