Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
“Banker Stéphane Droulers created the Haut-Carles cuvée in 1994 to showcase the very best that the finest terroirs of Château de Carles—a property inherited from his wife, Constance Chastenet de Castaing—had to offer. Carefully vinified and luxuriously oaked, this cuvée initially embodied the archetype of modern Bordeaux without becoming a caricature. Composed of 90% Merlot, it reveals over time a very personal expression of a distinguished terroir that ages harmoniously.”
