Wine rated 15/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (A serious production, recommendable, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About wine:
Soft, floral, and fruity on the nose, with a similar style on the palate, harmonious, pleasant to drink, and very refreshing. Well-made, with rare elegance and excellent balance.
About the estate:
A famous estate, very much in vogue in the 19th century, this sleeping beauty was revived four years ago when it was bought by the Mounier cognac house. Laurent Méry is in charge of its management. Located between Margaux and Saint-Julien, on gravelly terroirs, the vineyard covers nearly 70 hectares of vines planted equally with Cabernet and Merlot. Major work has been undertaken to restore the château to its former glory. Modern and avant-garde, advised by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), the wine retains its finesse and elegance.

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
A cru bourgeois that has been producing wine since the Middle Ages. It owes its name to agronomist Jacques de Bergeron, who developed a grafting method in the early 19th century. Dominated by a 19th-century building, the vineyard covers nearly 80 hectares and is owned by the cognac houses H. Mounier and Hardy.

Wine rating (2017 guide) 89-91/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About wine:
Château Lamothe-Bergeron 2016 displays impressive freshness and vitality on the nose: effervescent black fruits mixed with tobacco and graphite. The palate is well-balanced with lively acidity, harmonious on the palate with good depth, lots of new wood on the finish but this should be subsumed once it is bottled. There is potential here.
About the estate:
Wine Enthusiast
Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100
About wine:
The rather grandiose château on this estate dates back to the 19th century, with turrets in keeping with Médoc tradition. The wine is also classic, offering balanced acidity, blackcurrant, and a layer of tannins to support it all. The 30% new barrels added to the wine's richness and gave it a spicy aftertaste. Drink from 2022 onwards.

Yves Beck
Wine rated (2018 guide) 91/100
About wine:
Medium garnet red. The bouquet of Lamothe-Bergeron 2016 is complex and multifaceted. It reveals smoky, fruity, and mineral notes. Pleasant aromas of licorice wood and blackberries. On the palate, it impresses with its density and balance. The tannins are fine-grained and perfectly integrated, while the structure lends it class. A complete wine with body, muscle, and finesse. I think it can still gain a point or two. To be followed. 2022-2036
