Vert de Vin
"One of the property's greatest successes!"
"A distinctive bouquet with good intensity, notes of blackcurrant and blueberry followed by a refreshing touch of eucalyptus. Creamy and delicious on the palate. The wine has body and fine-grained tannins that provide perfect support. A balanced, elegant but also powerful wine that deserves a little aging. Fruity and persistent finish. A very fine achievement at Lamothe-Bergeron!" (Yves Beck 2021)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (A serious production, recommendable, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
A famous estate, very much in vogue in the 19th century, this sleeping beauty was revived four years ago when it was bought by the Mounier cognac house. Laurent Méry is in charge of its management. Located between Margaux and Saint-Julien, on gravelly terroirs, the vineyard covers nearly 70 hectares of vines planted equally with Cabernet and Merlot. Major work has been undertaken to restore the château to its former glory. Modern and avant-garde, advised by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), the wine retains its finesse and elegance.

About wine:
Promising a bright future, this highly successful 2018 stands out immediately for its elegant bouquet of blackberry and beautiful toasted, vanilla oak. A harmonious marriage of fruit and oak that is reflected in a round, smooth, tender palate, supported by tannins that are present but velvety. 2025-2030
About the estate:
A cru bourgeois that has been producing wine since the Middle Ages. It owes its name to agronomist Jacques de Bergeron, who developed a grafting method in the early 19th century. Dominated by a 19th-century building, the vineyard covers nearly 80 hectares and is owned by the cognac houses H. Mounier and Hardy.

About wine:
With Cabernet Sauvignon predominating, this wine showcases the richness of the vintage. With aromas of blackberry, its rich tannins indicate that the wine is still maturing. It will be worth waiting until 2023.

About wine:
Attractive nose of blackberries, red currants, and bark, followed by a medium body with firm, chewy tannins and a juicy finish. Needs time to soften. Try after 2023.

Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2021 guide) 89-90/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The nose offers a delicate complexity. It reveals notes of blackberry, sweet blond tobacco, juicy cherry, and a hint of strawberry, combined with subtle hints of rose, violet, and a discreet touch of camphor, almond, and nutmeg. The palate is fruity and juicy, with a mineral structure, a slight roundness, and a delicate smoothness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy boysenberry, crushed blackcurrant and, more subtly, bright cherry, combined with hints of crushed red berries, lilac, fresh violet, blond tobacco, a subtle hint of nutmeg, chocolate and an imperceptible hint of rose. Good length.
