Château Bellevue de Tayac

Château Bellevue de Tayac, in the Margaux appellation, was purchased in 2004 by Jean-Luc Thuvenin, a wine merchant and owner who was already well known in the Bordeaux region. The new owner then invested heavily in the estate’s development. The first vintage following the acquisition of Château Bellevue de Tayac was produced entirely by Guillaume Quéron (Château Fleur Mongiron) with the assistance of the Banton-Lauret company.

The Château Bellevue de Tayac vineyard, covering an area of 3.5 hectares, is situated on a ridge of gravel over clay, where the soil is worked to promote deep root growth. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and collected in small crates. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and in oak barrels for the Petit Verdot. The blending and the care taken throughout the winemaking process at Château Bellevue de Tayac result in a beautiful, concentrated Margaux that offers both density and lovely freshness.
