Château Bellevue de Tayac

Bellevue Castle in Tayac
Château Bellevue de Tayac, in the Margaux appellation, was purchased in 2004 by Jean-Luc Thuvenin, a wine merchant and owner already well known in the Bordeaux region. The new owner then invested heavily in the estate’s development. The first vintage following the acquisition of Château Bellevue de Tayac was produced entirely by Guillaume Quéron (Château Fleur Mongiron) with the assistance of the Banton-Lauret company.

The Château Bellevue de Tayac vineyard, covering an area of 3.5 hectares, is situated on a gravelly hilltop with a clay subsoil, which is worked to promote root development. Harvesting is done by hand, with grapes picked at optimal ripeness and collected in small crates. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks for the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and in barrels for the Petit Verdot. The blending and the care taken throughout the winemaking process at Château Bellevue de Tayac result in a beautiful, concentrated Margaux that offers both depth and lovely freshness.
