Ferrière Castle
With its 10 hectares of vineyards, Château Ferrière is the smallest estate among the Médoc’s 1855 Grand Cru Classés. Located in the heart of the village of Margaux, it benefits from a terroir of very deep Garonne gravel and calcareous marl. This Third Growth was acquired in 1988 by the Villars family, along with the Châteaux Chasse-Spleen and Haut-Bages Libéral. Now managed by Claire Villars Lurton and supported by oenologist Eric Boissenot, the estate has regained its former glory with a style that combines power and finesse. It has been certified organic since 2015 and biodynamic since 2018 by Demeter and Biodyvin. Château Ferrière is a true rising star of the Médoc to watch closely!
