“The smoothness of the attack sets the stage for an elegant, charming, and harmonious wine. A delightful wine! ~ Yves Beck”

“A magnificent bouquet, very floral and expressive, typical of Margaux—with notes of dark chocolate and licorice. A smooth and lively palate, marked by great approachability and undeniable charm, lively and supple, without excessive acidity, very refined, with a delicate purity of fruit in the mid-palate—blueberries and cherries—against a salty and mineral backdrop. Aging will round it out and bring greater integration, but it is already a great pleasure to drink. Good balance and a long finish!” (Decanter 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2022 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Following the reorganization of the Perrodo family’s Margaux estates, Labégorce-Zédé merged with Château Labégorce to form a single entity. Marjolaine de Coninck has served as general manager of the estates since 2010. The wines produced retain their strong identity, but now exhibit greater modernity, finesse, and elegance.

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

A beautiful neoclassical building standing in the middle of its vineyard, just outside Margaux on the road to Pauillac, this estate has benefited from significant investments since its purchase in 1989 by the Perrodo family, who also own Château Marquis d'Alesme. The 2009 merger with Château Labégorce Zédé allowed it to reclaim its original vineyard (70 hectares), the one it held prior to the 1794 division. Nathalie Perrodo-Samani took over the family estates in 2006, following the death of her father, Hubert.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

The Perrodo family, owners of the Labégorce, Labégorce-Zédé, and Marquis d'Alesme estates, has decided to unify the two wines under the name Labégorce. The vineyard plots have been reorganized, and every effort is being made to establish this brand as a benchmark among the unclassified wines of Margaux. The older vintages, sold under the name Labégorce-Zédé, are generally of very high quality.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 92-94/100

About the wine:

A charming and supple wine, Château Labégorce 2025 is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot, with 30% aged in new French oak barrels. Its deep ruby color with plum highlights is accompanied by a lovely bouquet of red and blue fruits, aromatic herbs, and tobacco, with well-integrated woody notes. On the palate, it is round and textured, with supple tannins and exceptional length.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 92-94/100

About the wine:

With its subtle woody notes, Labégorce’s bouquet is inviting and complex. It reveals pleasant notes of ripe blackberries and praline, complemented by a hint of cinnamon. The smooth character of the attack gives way to an elegant, charming, and harmonious wine. Its velvety tannins provide structure and vigor, supported by acidity that contributes both freshness and structure. A delightful wine. 2028–2045
