"Malescot St-Exupéry 2019 is probably the most elegant wine I have tasted here. Soft and radiant, the 2019 has remarkable depth with plenty of supporting structure beneath surprisingly tame tannins. Minerality, dark cherry/plum, spice, leather, and dried flowers develop over time. The 2019 is a magical wine with tremendous character. Don't miss it. Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2016 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)
About the estate:
Since 1990, this modestly sized vineyard, which is nonetheless large enough to delight many wine lovers, has been producing a seriously structured Margaux, whose tannic base perfectly reflects the high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. Jean-Luc Zuger, its passionate owner, did very well to call on Michel Rolland, who learned from him to better understand the character of Médoc wines. The latest vintages are highly recommended, combining power and harmony, which is what the public rightly wants.

Wine rating (2022 guide) 94/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About wine:
Malescot St. Exupéry 2019 is generous and expressive, bursting with aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and blackberry mingled with notes of silty soil, dark chocolate, and roasted espresso. Full-bodied, broad, and muscular, its fleshy fruit core is framed by succulent acids and ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish. It will benefit from a little bottle aging for a flamboyant consumption. 2027-2060
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2016 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
This discreet little Margaux vineyard continues, quietly, to produce some of the appellation's most appealing and original wines. Its success is due to its owner, Jean-Luc Zuger, who is conscientious and always on the lookout for new avenues to explore. With its remarkable terroir (partly adjacent to Château Margaux), it expresses the smoothness and maturity of the fruit like no other: the wine always shines with its creamy, almost Burgundian texture and refined tannins. The consistency of the latest vintages is impeccable.

James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 96/100
About wine:
Sweet aromas of redcurrant and berries with notes of blackcurrant, black cherries, and flowers. It is full-bodied and layered with beautifully polished tannins that linger for several minutes. It is tight and very concentrated. It needs at least 6 or 7 years to open up. Try it after 2027.
Le Figaro vins
Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100
About wine:
The nose is rather massive with notes of fresh red fruit, spices, pepper, hints of vanilla, and mocha. This impression continues on the palate with intense fruitiness, counterbalanced by a freshness that gives the wine a beautiful energy.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2021 guide) 96/100
About wine:
The second wine hinted at this with its intense fruitiness, so the grand vin can only confirm the trend; it is complex and intense, revealing notes of blackcurrant, blueberry, and licorice. The attack is distinguished by its finesse and freshness. The wine combines charm, density, and power. It owes the latter to its fine tannins, which create a beautiful symbiosis with the crisp temperament of the acidic structure. A brilliant wine with a lingering finish. It will still need a little patience, though! 2026-2049
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2022 guide) 96/100
About wine:
Lush, rich, and silky, the wine is deep, dark, and intense, with silky tannins, freshness, and layers of opulent, refined, and elegant dark red fruits. The combination of velvety tannins, intensity, and a sumptuous finish hits the mark. If you can wait ten years, this will be an exceptional wine to enjoy for the next two decades. Drink from 2029 to 2055.
