Château Potensac
Château Potensac is located in Ordonnac, a village in the Médoc region of Bordeaux. Château Potensac’s wines are produced under the Médoc AOC. Château Potensac is currently owned by the Delon family, which owns other estates in the Bordeaux region, including Château Léoville Las Cases in the Saint-Julien appellation and Château Nénin in Pomerol.
The Château Potensac vineyard covers more than 55 hectares of Garonne gravel and clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc, with the average age of the vines being 35 years.
The Château Potensac estate also produces a second wine: La Chapelle de Potensac, which serves as an introduction before appreciating the exceptional quality of Château Potensac’s first wine. The latter has been classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel and remains the only wine to have earned this distinction within the Médoc appellation.
