"La Chapelle de Potensac 2007 is a highly appealing Médoc wine, with an open nose of plum, boxwood, fresh blackcurrant, and even a hint of menthol. The palate is smooth, with supple tannins, making it easy to pour another glass." ( Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 – Gault & Millau)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Undoubtedly the most highly regarded wine in the Médoc appellation, Potensac owes its success to the quality of the winemaking teams assembled by the Delon family, owners of the château, who work to the same exacting standards as at Léoville-Las Cases. The very old age of the vineyard, with some Cabernet plots over 80 years old, does not prevent it from being perfectly productive! The wine is classic in style, with notes of cedar on the nose and spices in the tannins, and a lot of firmness. It is currently evolving towards greater immediacy and suppleness. The latest vintages are majestic and classy, and will console all those who can no longer afford the most famous wines.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
A beautiful estate located on one of the highest points in northern Médoc, this renowned cru, run by Jean-Hubert Delon (Léoville Las Cases), covers most of its 84 hectares on clay-gravel hilltops with limestone subsoil and a high proportion of gravel, a terroir similar to that of Saint-Estèphe. Not to be missed.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Bargain hunters know that Château Potensac is the flagship of the Médoc appellation, thanks to the 300,000 bottles produced each year and the consistency of its quality. The little brother of Léoville Las Cases, it benefits from all the expertise of the team and, thanks to the aging of the vineyard, now produces the best wine in its appellation. Delicious after two or three years in the bottle, it is also capable of aging for a long time. Its style combines generosity and precision, without heaviness or vulgarity.
