“A fairly powerful, dark, and heady nose, slightly taut, smoky, and oaky. Tight and tannic, it is quite compact and dark, but there is a lovely acidity and an underlying freshness that gives it some pep. It certainly has good potential, and I appreciate its juicy, almost sweet character.” (Decanter 2024)

About the wine:
The nose is quite powerful, dark, and heady, with a slightly austere, smoky, and oaky character. Tight and tannic, it’s quite compact and dark, but there’s a lovely acidity and an underlying freshness that gives it some pep. It certainly has good potential, and I appreciate its juicy, almost sweet character. From a 7-hectare estate on pure clay. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aged in barrels for one year. 2025–2034

Wine rated (2024 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Still young, this wine offers subtle aromas of spices and tobacco. Its toasty character, developed during barrel aging, gives it a richness of dark fruit that still needs time to develop. Best enjoyed starting in 2027.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
A firm, concentrated red wine with aromas of dark fruit, toasted spices, nuts, and damp stone. Medium-bodied, it has a solid structure and fine tannins. Flavorful and already very appealing. Best enjoyed after 2026.

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on January 25, 2026
After a fresh attack, powerful, still-lively young tannins deliver intense, ripe flavors of black fruit and subtle spices, nuanced by a hint of oak. The body is slender, and the texture is fine and silky. A respectable finish. It will relax and mellow with time. In this 2022 vintage with a strong personality, this affordable, easy-drinking wine already pairs wonderfully with red meat, such as beef tartare. Rating = 4.
