"A sure bet in a stellar vintage!"
“Garnet red with violet highlights. A bouquet of good intensity, with notes of raisins, cherries, blackcurrants, and black pepper. A silky, creamy attack on the palate. On the palate, the wine is well supported by its tannins and a refreshing structure. A pleasant, well-balanced wine that can be enjoyed now in its youth but also has good aging potential.” (Yves Beck 2018) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 91/100
Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
We appreciate the delicate, subtly fruity and floral aroma, and the full-bodied palate, which reveals lovely, flavorful tannins and a pleasant freshness. Well-made, balanced, and appealing.
About the estate:
Located near the Moulis train station, Château Maucaillou features a rather unusual architectural style, blending Renaissance and 18th-century elements. Owned by the Dourthe family since 1929, Pascal, with the help of his two sisters, Magali and Caroline, took over the reins in 2007, continuing the work begun by their father, Philippe. Since the 2009 vintage, Magali has changed the style of the wines; they are now smoother and more modern than in the past, while remaining robust and suitable for aging.
Decanter
Wine rated (2019 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Ripe fruit with a hint of spice. The oak is barely noticeable, adding a touch of smoothness. The wine is firm and structured, with plenty of liveliness on the finish. 2022–2032
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2020) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
While it doesn’t seem to have revealed all its secrets yet, this wine already shows a pleasant character. Its lovely bouquet of red berries and delicate spices gives way to a supple, fresh attack, followed by a seductive palate supported by fine tannins.
About the estate:
A flagship wine from Moulis, established in 1875 in the localities of Caubet and Maucaillou (“bad rock”), a gravelly hilltop unsuitable for growing grain for medieval farmers but ideal for vines. Owned by the Dourthe family since 1929, this estate has grown from 3.5 hectares at that time to 90 hectares today. Philippe Dourthe, the current owner, has entrusted its management to his three children.

About the wine:
Aromas of berries and iron with a hint of oyster shell. Medium-bodied, it features firm, silky tannins and a savory finish. A year or two will be enough to let it come together. Best after 2021.
