"Once again, this is a vintage in which Croizet Bages has improved in quality—it's noticeable and deserves praise, as it remains excellent value for money for a classified Pauillac. It needs time in the glass to open up as it has an extremely rich tannic structure. It is a masculine style with a savory, solid character and good quality that is slowly but surely developing." Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This classified growth is located on beautiful gravel terraces between Grand Puy Lacoste and Lynch-Bages. Jean Philippe Quié and his sister Anne-Françoise want to give it every chance to succeed, and there has been real progress since 2015, even if the 2016 vintage does not quite live up to the promise shown during barrel tasting before bottling. A new vat room should help to consolidate this progress.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About wine:
The 2016 is a relatively soft wine with a pleasant smoothness on the palate. A Pauillac with an accessible profile and a supple mouthfeel.
About the estate:
Like Rauzan-Gassies in Margaux, this wine belongs to the Quié family. It doesn't have the resources of the appellation's big names, but can nevertheless be tender and delicious in good vintages. It is therefore a good deal for wine lovers, thanks to its very reasonable prices.
Vinous
Wine rated (2020 guide) 90/100
About wine:
Croizet-Bages 2016 offers an open and engaging bouquet, a blend of red and black fruits intertwined with cedar and subtle mint. The oak is beautifully integrated here. The palate is well-balanced with supple tannins and a hint of acidity. It displays a little more "roundness" than its peers thanks to a more expressive Merlot. A Croizet-Bages that "leaves the customer satisfied." 2022-2035

Lots of blackcurrant and warm stone character on the nose. Full-bodied and tannic on the palate with a smooth finish. Shows very good structure. Very well made.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2017 guide) 90-91/100
About wine:
Purple-violet color. Fruity bouquet with good intensity, revealing notes of licorice and raspberries. Cedar notes. Fruity and refreshing attack. Balanced body with tannins in harmony with a lively structure. Fruity finish. Bravo! 2022-2036
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 93-94/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The nose is elegant and fruity, offering subtle power and intensity. It reveals notes of fleshy, crunchy wild strawberries and fleshy, crunchy raspberries, with lighter hints of blackberries combined with subtle touches of blackcurrants, fresh blueberries, and very discreet hints of gray pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, juicy, balanced and offers good definition, a delicate juiciness, straightforwardness and a delicate acidic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/tart red berries, juicy/tart raspberry and, more subtly, blackberry, combined with a hint of cherry, subtle hints of licorice stick and a very subtle hint of cardamom and vanilla. Good length with hints of almond and coffee.
