Château Haut-Batailley
Owned by the Des Brest-Borie family since 1930, Château Haut-Batailley, a 1855 Grand Cru Classé in Pauillac, was acquired in March 2017 by another Bordeaux family—the Cazes family—who also own another château in Pauillac, Lynch-Bages. The Château Haut-Batailley estate spans 40 hectares, including 22 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 35 years, already planted. Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant variety, accounting for 70% of the vineyard, complemented by 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
Although owned by the same family, the decision to maintain its independence in terms of management and winemaking—with a dedicated team—allows Château Haut-Batailley to preserve its integrity and evolve at its own pace.
