"A high-flying Mouton that ranks among the estate's Hall of Fame, and at the top of the Médoc!"

"Wow! The aromas are so complete: blackcurrant, asphalt, violet, pencil, orange blossom and black truffle. A perfect nose. Full-bodied but supported by harmonious tannins that extend throughout the wine's length, giving it a seductive mouthfeel and persistence. A vintage with one of the highest percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon ever recorded. The quintessence of a great Bordeaux without limits". (James Suckling 2025) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

5-star rated estates (Outstanding producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About the domain :

Philippine de Rothschild left her children a property in top form, in the hands of an irreproachable technical team. Originally called Brane-Mouton, the estate became Mouton-Rothschild in 1853, when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild acquired it. His great-grandson Philippe took over in 1922 and began selling bottled wines. Mouton's privileged terroir and its very old vines, magnified in recent vintages thanks to the favors of the climate and the help of a magnificent winery introduced in 2013, produce perhaps the most formally perfect wine in the Médoc. But that won't stop it from closing as a great vintage before reaching a climax that is predicted to be glorious. The second wine, petit-mouton, resembles the first like a little brother, and the white, aile-d'argent, is gradually becoming one of the Médoc's most complete.

Estate rated (guide 2022) 3*Star (Exceptional wine)

About the domain :

Acquired by the Rothschild family in 1853, Ch. Mouton Rothschild is strongly linked to the personality of Baron Philippe. After taking over the estate in 1922, Baron Philippe restored the estate to its former glory by modernizing it (notably through the construction of the famous "grand chai"), a process which culminated in 1973 in the revision of the 1855 classification and Mouton's elevation to the rank of 1ercru classé. Baron Philippe also made the estate the foundation of a small empire that included other vineyards and a trading house. He also played an important role in the history of wine, being one of the first to bottle at the château, as early as 1926, and having his labels illustrated by artists. From 1988 onwards, his daughter Philippine, who died in 2014, continued his work. She was succeeded by her children, Camille and Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild. Philippe Dhalluin has been the director since 2003. His 84-hectare vineyard is located mainly on a very deep gravelly hillside known as the "Plateau de Mouton", and a brand-new vat room was completed in 2013.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)

About the domain :

Philippe Sereys de Rothschild has presided over this iconic family estate in Pauillac since 2014. The wine, always flamboyant, naturally exhaling generous smoky notes, is more in place than ever. If Mouton went through a slump in the mid-1990s, it was brilliantly revived in the early 2000s. Since then, a series of grandiose vintages has followed, continuing to write the legend of the only Cru Classé from 1855 to be promoted: from second to first in 1973. Philippe Dhalluin, the architect of the cru's revival, has handed over the reins to a solid duo: Ariane Khaida (general manager) and Jean-Emmanuel Danjoy (technical director). Mouton, equipped with a new winery since 2013, is evolving at the top. Note the progress made by the white, clearer and more precise than ever.

About the wine:

Bottled in June 2024, Château Mouton Rothschild 2022 is a classic blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot, aged entirely in new barrels. Incredibly concentrated, yet light and graceful, this inky-colored wine boasts sensational notes of cassis, graphite, crushed stone and chocolate that take your breath away. It expresses the ripe, opulent style of the vintage, while offering exceptional purity, generous tannins and a magnificent finish. For enthusiasts, this wine has 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.86 and an IPT (tannins) of 76. It has the depth of fruit and texture to offer incredible pleasure today, but deserves a decade of bottle age and will evolve for 50-60 years. It reminds me of a blend of 2009 and 2010. 2035-2095

Wine rated (2024 guide) 100/100

About the wine:

What's striking about this wine is the grandeur it spontaneously displays, without a shadow of a doubt, without a moment's hesitation! The correlation between fruit, terroir, ageing and freshness is breathtaking. It reminds me of the bouquet of the 1986, a precious reference. On the palate, the wine begins by revealing charm, quickly encircled by fine-grained tannins and a constructive, structuring austerity, stretching the finish and aromatic persistence. This is a high-flying Mouton that ranks among the estate's Hall of Fame. Of course, it's not giving itself away fully yet, and rightly so, as it already has enough to marvel at! It therefore has the luxury of improving while already being perfect. I'm not going to repeat the 101/100 trick, but we could give it a 180, as in darts. 2030-2070

Wine rated (2025 guide) 100/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is elegant, mineral, intense, racy, powerful and airy, with a very discreetly tight, intense and airy grain. Notes of boysenberry, morello cherry and a hint of racy warm gravel are combined with hints of violet, dense berries, as well as a touch of graphene, discreet hints of nutmeg, a subtle hint of star anise and almost infusion (in freshness). The palate is nicely structured, elegant, precise, deep, airy, chiseled and fresh. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright blackcurrant and more lightly roasted raspberry-elegant, morello cherry combined with hints of roasted fruit-elegant as well as subtle hints of licorice stick, tonka bean/chocolate and tobacco. The tannins are smooth, elegant and silky. Good length. A beautifully chiseled, mellow, deep, gourmand wine, perfectly balanced and meticulous. Superb persistence.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 100/100

About the wine:

The nose captivates with its dazzling display of truffles, cigar boxes, spices, black and blue fruits and dried flowers. However, it's the palate that steals the show with its ostentatious intensity, flamboyant, velvety and cashmere-textured red and black fruits. The wine continues to gain in intensity, opening up in all directions on the palate. The harmonious finish lingers beyond the 60-second mark, enticing you to smell and savor the pleasure again. A legendary future wine from Mouton Rothschild. This wine is composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot, with an alcoholic strength of 14%. Drink between 2030 and 2070.
