"Still developing but already concentrated and complex, the bouquet blends very ripe, almost candied black fruits with spices, licorice, and well-integrated vanilla and toasted notes. This harmonious impression of aging is reflected in a full, rich palate that is as elegant as it is powerful. The finish is persistent and expressive, lingering on fine tannins that promise excellent aging potential." Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2014 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, but where we are unable to give an overall opinion on the style of the entire range)
About wine:
Slightly more tense than the 2009, this vintage offers a supple, smooth wine with finesse. The finish is structured and flavorful with tannins.
About the estate:
Owned by Axa, this vineyard is ideally located on a gravelly hilltop, with such prestigious neighbors as Pontet-Canet and d'Armailhac. With the acquisition of Château Tour Pibran in 2001, Jean-René Matignon and the Pichon-Baron teams were able to select the best plots for Pibran and create a second wine.

About wine:
Pibran is vinified by the same teams as Château Pichon Baron, also owned by Axa Millésimes. Completely restructured after the acquisition of the neighboring estate (Tour Pibran) by the insurance company, this estate now ranks among the greatest, judging by its wine, which is exceptional in its presence. Still developing but already concentrated and complex, the bouquet combines very ripe, almost candied black fruits with spices, licorice, and well-integrated vanilla and toasted notes. This harmonious impression of aging is reflected in a full-bodied and rich palate that is as elegant as it is powerful. The persistent and expressive finish lingers on fine tannins that promise excellent aging potential. This bottle will reveal itself further in three to five years and can be cellared for a good decade.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rating (2012 guide) 18/20 (Outstanding)
About wine:
Lulled by a disconcerting voluptuousness, the notes emerge beneath this delicate robe. The smoothness on the palate, composed of black fruits, unleashes its fleshiness, and the substance bursts forth with exemplary complexity. Time will reveal its full potential. Masterful!

Wine rating (2013 guide) 90/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About wine:
A vintage success, this discreet Pauillac from the owners of Pichon Longueville comes from a 42-hectare vineyard, with the blend divided equally between the two grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Classic notes of barbecue smoke intertwined with blackcurrant, undergrowth, and cedar leap from the glass, a purple, thick wine with a smooth, rich, and dense texture that can be drunk within 3-4 years. In addition, it should last up to two decades. It is not an overly expensive wine, as consumers do not follow it closely, something my readers should take note of.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About wine:
Open and appealing, the 2010 is crisp, also full of fruit and beautifully balanced.
About the estate:
Located on the ridge between Pontet-Canet and Armailhac, Pibran was acquired by AXA Millésimes in 1987. Vinified by the excellent Jean-René Matignon of Pichon-Longueville, the wine regularly stands out among the elite of the crus bourgeois, characterized by a very classic Pauillac style, combining generosity and tannic structure. Full-bodied, aromatic, and readily accessible, it ages well and with grace.
