"An unexpected success for the vintage, this discreet Pessac-Léognan estate has produced a beautifully concentrated and rich Graves offering notes of strawberries, cherry jam, cedar, and barbecue smoke. Lots of fruit and glycerin, soft tannins, and controlled acidity make for a charming claret to be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years. (Wine Advocate 2012 - Robert Parker)

Wine rated 14/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2019 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About wine:
Refined, tender, red fruit, delicate length.
About the estate:
Since 2006, this property has belonged to the Bonnie family, like Malartic-Lagravière, which operates it separately from the cru classé. With 22 hectares in the heart of the Léognan vineyard, including 19 hectares of red grapes, it has great potential, which has been evident for several vintages now. The current style tends to favor freshness and suppleness, not without charm. It has become a must-have in the appellation.

About the estate:
Established in the 17th century on a beautiful ridge of clayey gravel, this 20-hectare vineyard was acquired in 2006 by Alexandre Bonnie, owner of Malartic-Lagravière. It is managed by the technical teams of this classified growth, who have restructured the vineyard and equipped it with new facilities. Cultivated using methods similar to organic farming, it is surrounded by meadows, flower-filled fallow land, woods, and hedges.

About the estate:
This Léognan vineyard was completely unknown until it was purchased in 2005 by the Bonnie family, who also own the Malartic-Lagravière classified growth. Véronique Bonnie-Laplane, Séverine and Jean-Jacques Bonnie are responsible for the spectacular revival of this beautiful clay and gravel terroir. In less than ten years, the red wines have reached an excellent level of quality, with a deep, sensual, flattering style and often opulent oakiness. In 2010, the white wine was created using 100% Sauvignon Blanc, and the first vintages were quite convincing. Now more than just an outsider in Pessac-Léognan, Gazin-Rocquencourt is a mature wine with every asset it needs to continue improving.
