Wine rated (2018 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the wine:

A very exuberant and complex nose, with notes of exotic fruit, smoke, aristoloche, marshmallow, flint, and old-fashioned rose; the palate is very lush, with beautiful body, lingering aromas, and a certain liveliness. A powerful white wine.

About the estate:

Located in the heart of Léognan, this beautiful 75-hectare estate was purchased in 1987 by Philippe Gervoson, who also heads the Andros company. It produces modern-style wines, featuring full-bodied, approachable reds, while the white has gained significantly in depth and precision. The arrival of Bruno Lemoine as general manager in 2007—the winemaker behind the famous 1990 Montrose (among others)—has allowed the estate to assert even more of its personality. The reds are undeniably charming yet not lacking in elegance, and possess great aging potential. The whites, somewhat in the same vein, are very exuberant aromatically, powerful, and endowed with incredible personality. A sure bet within the appellation.

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (2018 guide) 2** stars (Outstanding wine)

About the wine:

Made primarily from Sauvignon Blanc, this 2015 vintage is as pleasing to the eye—with its yellow-gold hue—as it is refined in its aromas of toasted almonds and white flowers, accented by a subtle mineral note. On the palate, it combines a lovely fullness with a lively freshness that highlights peach flavors and lends length to the finish.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Due to a small harvest, the 2015 whites were not aged in concrete egg-shaped tanks, but in three types of fermentation and aging vessels: new barrels, 500-liter casks, and large oak vats. It is a full-bodied white with a rich mid-palate, featuring aromas that are more exotic than citrusy.

About the estate:

This estate, owned by the Gervoson family (Andros Group), consistently produces pleasant, approachable wines distinguished by their aromatic exuberance. Situated on a beautiful terroir in the hills above Léognan, not far from Haut-Bailly and La Louvière, the estate also benefits from modern winemaking facilities, including a brand-new concrete vat room. Bruno Lemoine, director since 2007, and François Gaudichon, cellar master since 2015, bring an added level of precision to the stylistic definition of the wines.
