“2016 is the first vintage fully overseen by Stéphane Derenoncourt and Frédéric Massie. The red wine shows greater finesse in its extraction, with more delicate oak notes. The fruit shines through in an elegant structure. ” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2018 - RVF) The 2016 red boasts a successful, classic style with silky tannins. It will age very well. Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method)

Eye
A deep ruby color with violet highlights
Nose
The initial aroma is a bit closed at first. It quickly opens up to reveal vibrant, well-defined fruit. It lingers with smoky and licorice notes characteristic of the great Cabernets from the Léognan region. The impression remains fresh.
Palate
Dense and long, with no lulls, perfectly structured. The powerful tannins have a very nice texture. A truly great wine from a truly great Bordeaux vintage.

Wine rated 15.5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide): 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the wine:
Powerful aromas of jammy black fruits, leather, and smoke, which carry over into a full-bodied, pleasing, fresh, vibrant, and characterful palate.
About the estate:
Located in the heart of Léognan, this beautiful 75-hectare estate was purchased in 1987 by Philippe Gervoson, who also heads the Andros company. It produces modern-style wines, with full-bodied, appealing reds, while the white has gained significantly in body and precision. The arrival of Bruno Lemoine as general manager in 2007—the winemaker behind the famous 1990 Montrose (among others)—has allowed the estate to assert even more of its personality. The reds are undeniably charming yet not without elegance, and have great aging potential. The whites, somewhat in the same vein, are very exuberant aromatically, powerful, and endowed with incredible personality. A sure bet within the appellation.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
With a medium-to-intense garnet color, the 2016 Larrivet Haut-Brion reveals an alluring, earthy, truffle-like nose with hints of crushed stone, plowed soil, mushrooms, and mossy bark, centered around notes of blackcurrant compote and warm blackberries. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, the palate is elegantly structured with supple, refined tannins and consistent freshness, finishing with a subtle intensity of salty nuances.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
2016 is the first vintage fully overseen by Stéphane Derenoncourt and Frédéric Massie. The red wine shows greater finesse in its extraction, with more delicate oak notes. The fruit shines through in an elegant structure.
About the estate:
This estate, owned by the Gervoson family (Andros Group), consistently produces pleasant and approachable wines distinguished by their aromatic exuberance. Situated on a beautiful terroir in the hills above Léognan, not far from Haut-Bailly and La Louvière, the estate also benefits from modern winemaking facilities, including a brand-new concrete fermentation tank. Bruno Lemoine, director since 2007, and François Gaudichon, cellar master since 2015, bring an added level of precision to the wines’ stylistic expression.

Rated Estate (2021 Guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)
About the wine:
Tasted from the barrel. With ripe, velvety tannins, it’s already a generous wine. At the same time, it has a touch of acidity that keeps it crisp and brings out the blackcurrant fruit. Combine these two elements, and the wine will be at its peak after 2027.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 94/100
Rated winery (2021 guide) Recommended
About the wine:
Very appealing earthy aromas with a range of herbaceous and leafy notes, along with a hint of black fruit and earthy complexity. The palate has great depth and power, with a vibrant array of juicy red and darker berries. Soft, ripe tannins. Try it starting in 2022.
