“This 2009 is the best La Pointe ever! We have the owners to thank for their foresight in hiring Hubert de Bouard as a consultant. This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grown on the vineyard’s relatively sandy soils, displays a dense purple color and releases aromas of plum sauce mingled with notes of blueberries, raspberries, and black cherries. Full-bodied, opulent, rich, and very seductive, it should be enjoyed over the next decade. " (Wine Advocate 2016 - Robert Parker) Delivered in a wooden case for any order of 6 bottles of this wine

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2013) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

It is the estate’s location—nestled in a fork of the road just outside Libourne—that gave this cru its name, which was acquired by the Generali Group in 2007. Éric Monneret, originally from the Jura region and formerly of Sauternes, oversees its management. He has produced a 2009 vintage with a garnet hue, beautifully scented with elegant oak and intense notes of ripe fruit and sweet spices. The palate captivates with its volume, smoothness, and generosity, featuring a dense, silky texture supported by tannins that are pronounced yet refined. An approachable and harmonious wine that will be ready to enjoy in four or five years.

About the estate:

This significant vineyard (23 hectares) owes its name to its location at the tip formed by the roads leading to the town center and Catusseau, just outside Libourne. Known for its consistent quality, it was acquired in 2007 by the Generali Group. Éric Monneret, originally from the Jura region and formerly of Sauternes, manages the vineyard.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

This long-established estate, located at the entrance to Pomerol, has made significant strides since its acquisition by the insurance company Generali: the vineyard has been revitalized, and a new winery has been built. Under the leadership of its director, Éric Monneret, the wine has become truly noteworthy: it now possesses the aromatic charm, smoothness, warmth, and length characteristic of its finest neighbors, as well as a distinctive finesse that, even in hot vintages, prevents it from becoming heavy. A property to watch closely!

Dark, brick-red color. Very delicate, aromatic nose. Light, well-integrated oak notes with a slightly "sweet" vanilla flavor. On the palate, beautifully balanced, round, and smoky. Prominent smoky aromas, otherwise excellent. Tasted after the 2012 vintage during a tasting evening among "ladies"
