Black Horse
For over 80 years, the estate Black Horse belongs to the Bordeaux trading house Mähler-Besse. It is extremely popular with Bordeaux wine lovers. The black horse symbol refers to strength, elegance, power, and courage.

This wine estate offers four different vintages: a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, a Saint-Émilion, a red Bordeaux, and a white Bordeaux. The Saint-Émilion and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru plots are located in the east of the appellation, covering 5 hectares and bordering the grounds of the prestigious Château Angélus (1er Grand Cru Classé). Its owner, Hubert de Boüard, shares his expertise and advises the estate. Black Horse in the production of its wines.

As for white and red Bordeaux wines, they are grown on hillsides and blend well with the very interesting clay-limestone terroir. Cheval Noir dry white Bordeaux is made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes, which explain its minerality and roundness. Cheval Noir red Bordeaux is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet grapes, which explain its woody and fruity notes.
