Jacobins' Enclosure

Clos des Jacobins , located on a ridge between Libourne and Saint-Émilion, is a property belonging to Vignobles Magali et Thibaut Decoster, also owners of Château La Commanderie, since 2004. They then undertook to restructure these estates and modernize the production tool in order to make them flagships of the appellation.

Established in the 17th century, the Clos des Jacobins vineyard now comprises 8.5 hectares of vines at the foot of the slope, all in one contiguous block, on an early-ripening and generous terroir of limestone, clay, and limestone scree, facing south. The entire cellar complex has been completely renovated, allowing for more precise and controlled winemaking, and more subtle aging.

Clos des Jacobins won the Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés Cup in Hong Kong in 2006. Clos des Jacobins wines are models of complexity and balance, of great regularity, with significant aging potential.
