"A masterpiece of a wine!"
“Fabulous aromas of blackberries, blueberries, pine needles, and spices such as nutmeg, allspice, and white pepper. Full-bodied and very tight, with a solid core of fruit and ultra-fine yet powerful tannins. The wine has so much energy and vibrancy. Vibrant on every level. Precise and not overly powerful, yet so well-structured. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. It needs time to soften. Try it after 2026.” (James Suckling 2021) - Delivered in a wooden crate for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding “Point Relais” delivery method)

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
In the early 1990s, the term “garage wines” emerged, referring—with a touch of humor—to Saint-Émilion wines produced in very small quantities “in a garage instead of a winery.” Ch. Croix de Labrie is one such producer. Its 5.7-hectare vineyard, cultivated organically, is located on the Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes plateau, right next to Pavie. It is owned by Axelle and Pierre Courdurié.

About the wine:
Dark color with black highlights. Intense, fruity, pure, and subtly truffle-scented on the nose. Hints of vanilla and spices. Delicate on the attack, very aromatic on the mid-palate, with a refined texture and a body slightly softer than the 2018 vintage; the wine caresses the palate with its juicy, long, and powerful character, without any harsh tannins. Beautifully lingering aroma.
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2021 guide) 96-97/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is floral and elegant, offering moderate intensity along with power, balance, and finesse. The aromatic profile is beautifully broad. It features notes of blueberry, lily, and blue berries, with a lighter hint of raspberry, combined with touches of crushed strawberry, hints of crushed cherry, delicate hints of licorice and sweet blond tobacco, and a subtle hint of the local terroir. On the palate, it is fruity and offers vibrancy, richness, depth, a lively bite, lovely energy, and a pleasant, fresh, and melodious character. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy, pulpy blackberry, vibrant cherry, and, to a lesser extent, pulpy red currants, combined with hints of raspberry, lily, chocolate, and caramelization, along with subtle hints of sweet blond tobacco, morello cherry, and a very discreet hint of cedar and fresh wildflowers (in the background). There is a subtle hint of terroir and salinity on the finish. The tannins are elegant and velvety. It offers a certain richness and concentration, yet remains controlled and refined. A lovely texture and finish. Good length.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
Almost opaque in color, the wine displays a complex aromatic profile featuring dark chocolate, tobacco leaves, licorice, smoke, flowers, cherries, and plums. Rich, concentrated, full-bodied, and deep. The wine has great staying power—the finish lasts 50 seconds! The finish offers a wealth of ripe fruit, supple and polished tannins, and vibrant fruit that just won’t let up. As I said when the wine was still in the barrel, this could be La Croix de Labrie’s best wine to date! Best enjoyed between 2024 and 2042.
