"A masterpiece of a wine!"

"Fabulous aromas of blackberries, blueberries, pine needles, and spices like nutmeg, allspice, and white pepper. Full-bodied and tightly structured, with a solid core of fruit and ultra-fine yet powerful tannins. The wine has so much energy and vibrancy. Vibrant on every level. Precise and not overly powerful, yet so well-structured. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. It needs time to soften. Try it after 2026.” (James Suckling 2021) - Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Pickup Point delivery method)

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

In the early 1990s, the term “garage wines” emerged, a humorous reference to Saint-Émilion wines produced in very small quantities “in a garage instead of a winery.” Ch. Croix de Labrie is one such wine. Its 5.7-hectare vineyard, cultivated organically, is located on the plateau of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, right next to Pavie. It is owned by Axelle and Pierre Courdurié.

Jean-Marc Quarin

Wine rated (2022 guide) 96/100

About the wine:

Deep color with black highlights. Intense, fruity, pure, and subtly truffle-scented on the nose. Hints of vanilla and spices. Delicate on the attack, highly aromatic on the palate, with a refined texture and a body slightly softer than the 2018 vintage; the wine caresses the palate with its juicy, long, and powerful character, without any harsh tannins. Beautifully lingering finish.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2021 guide) 96-97/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is floral and elegant, offering a subtle intensity along with power, control, and finesse. The aromatic profile is beautifully broad. It features notes of blueberry, lily, blue berries, and a hint of raspberry, combined with hints of crushed strawberry, hints of crushed cherry, delicate hints of licorice, sweet blond tobacco, and a subtle hint of the local terroir. The palate is fruity and offers vibrancy, richness, depth, a lively bite, lovely energy, and a pleasant, fresh, melodious quality. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/plump blackberry, vibrant cherry, and, to a lesser extent, plump redcurrants, combined with hints of raspberry, lily, chocolate, caramelization, subtle notes of sweet blond tobacco and morello cherry, as well as a very discreet hint of cedar and fresh wildflowers (in the background). There is a subtle hint of minerality and salinity on the finish. The tannins are elegant and velvety. A certain richness and concentration, yet with control and finesse. A lovely texture and touch on the finish. Good length.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 96/100

About the wine:

Almost opaque in color, the wine displays a complex aromatic profile featuring dark chocolate, tobacco leaves, licorice, smoke, flowers, cherries, and plums. Rich, concentrated, full-bodied, and deep. The wine has real staying power—the finish lasts a full 50 seconds! The finish offers a wealth of ripe fruit, supple and polished tannins, and vibrant fruit that just won’t stop. As I said when the wine was still in barrel, this could be the best wine from La Croix de Labrie to date! Drink between 2024 and 2042.
