"A great introduction to Figeac with its own personality and lots of charm!"

"Beautiful aromatic complexity on the nose, floral and brambly fruit. Juicy and seductive on the palate, the tannins are both chalky and fruity, with good density and vivacity. The mid-palate is precise, fruity, open, expressive and vibrant, with great freshness that shines through the glass. A joyful expression with aromas of strawberry, redcurrant, raspberry and red cherry, tantalizingly pure, structured and framed by woody notes. I love the touch of slate on the finish and the minerality that places this wine squarely in the Saint-Émilion category. A great introduction to Figeac with its own personality. You can drink it now, but it has cellaring potential. Keep a bottle to open when someone comes to your house, they'll be impressed" (Decanter 2023) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 5*Stars (Exceptional producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and the world)

About the domain :

With 35% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, it's often said that Figeac, located on the gravelly plateau bordering Pomerol, is the most Medoc-like of all Saint-Emilions. The originality of this cru lies in its central terroir, which is composed of Günzian gravel, the same as that found in the Grands Crus Classés of the Left Bank. As a result, this premier cru classé evolves perfectly over time. Thierry Manoncourt, the soul of the cru for over sixty years, gave it a salutary boost. Since 2013, Thierry's widow Marie-France Manoncourt and her daughters have formed a new management board. Under the capable direction of Frédéric Faye, the estate has reached the pinnacle of the Right Bank.

About the wine:

Petit-Figeac 2020 offers aromas of dark berries, black truffles, loamy soil and cigar wrapper. Medium to full-bodied, complex and flavorful, it is deep and elegant, with fine tannins and a penetrating finish. Some 40,000 bottles were produced, and those not selected were sold in bulk. 2025-2045

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)

About the domain :

From an atypical grape variety, with parity between Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Figeac's unique, personal style represents the quintessential elegance and refinement of the wines of the western plateau that Saint-Émilion shares with Pomerol. Figeac has a character all its own, often more austere and compact than its neighbors when young. Wines of exceptional breed, digestible and long. Figeac shines in warm vintages (as the 2005 proves) and only reveals its full potential after ten to fifteen years of cellaring. The construction of the new winery, completed for the 2020 harvest, has enabled us to delve even deeper into the details of each parcel of land, and has delighted Frédéric Faye with the extreme functionality of the facilities. Semi-buried, and close to the château with which it shares the elegance of the grand cru, this new tool, which fits majestically but without ostentation into the site, refreshes the place. The château thus confirms the extent of its "modern" classicism, its straightforwardness without artifice, and its rank: that of the rare premiers. Its history, rooted in the legend of Saint-Emilion; the park's preserved trees, creating a perfect eco-system; the power of its terroir with its unique relief and extremely qualitative clays; and the relevance of the new winery all earn the Manoncourt family's estate a fourth star.

Very fragrant, with cherry, hazelnut and chocolate aromas that follow through to a medium body, with very fine tannins and a fresh, vibrant finish. Lively and crisp. Second wine of Figeac. Notes of orange peel and graphite on the finish. Blend of 71% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. For drinking or cellaring.

About the wine:

I loved Petit-Figeac 2020, the second wine from Château Figeac. Made from 71% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, it is aged for 14-15 months in 40% new oak. It offers a fleshy, floral, medium- to full-bodied style, reflecting the purity and freshness of the vintage. It is bursting with ripe red and black fruits, as well as herbs and flowers. This 2020 has an avant-garde, sexy, seamless style. It will be perfect for drinking over the next 10 to 12 years or more.

About the wine:

Subtle, mischievous, slightly flirtatious base notes on the nose, with luminous top notes of blueberry, wild strawberry, licorice and flower petals. Supple and agile on the palate, playful, with a vibrant core of tart fruit, a silky texture and a longer-than-expected finish. 2024-2034
