Fleur de Fonplégade 2010 - Second vin du Château Fonplégade
Notes: Gault Millau 17.5/20, Featured in the Guide Hachette, Wine Spectator 88/100
With its stunning deep purple—almost black—color, Fleur de Fonplégade offers an intense bouquet of red fruits that already displays a lovely roundness. The palate is full-bodied and generous, supported by lovely acidity and remarkable length. A second wine of great character!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2015 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Taken over by a passionate American couple, Denise and Stephen Adams, Fonplégade is a superbly situated estate on the Saint-Émilion hillside, directly adjacent to Ausone. Under the direction of Éloi Jacob, the estate has made clear choices: organic viticulture and uncompromising winemaking in a modern, welcoming winery. The 2013 vintage is expected to be the estate’s most harmonious expression since the Adams’ arrival.

About the estate:
This charming estate and its hillside bourgeois château have been revitalized by American millionaires Denise and Steve Adams. After purchasing four châteaux, they have refocused their attention on Fonplégade and Château L’Enclos in Pomerol. Investments have been ongoing for the past five years at this estate, which is active in wine tourism. The château is being expanded with a second tower. The still-young vineyard is expected to be certified organic in 2013. This open-minded approach is also evident in the cellar, where oak barrels now sit alongside concrete tanks. The wine—charming, full-bodied, and seductive—has gained freshness and depth in the last three vintages. The tasting room, open to the general public, is one of the most elegant and popular in Saint-Émilion.
