"Acclaimed by the press, this is a magnificent organic estate that every lover of the Right Bank should know about!"

What definition, freshness, and depth in the bouquet of Grand Corbin-Despagne 2022! Like the winemaker himself, the wine is precise, focused on detail, with luminous eloquence; it speaks and is happy to be there. A beautiful fusion of notes of cherries, licorice wood, and peony. On the palate, the wine stands out for its harmony, its ability to create a link between freshness and vigor, between precision and fullness. A mouthwatering, thirst-quenching, persistent wine that leaves you wanting more. A great success and certainly one of François Despagne's best wines, which is no slight on his previous efforts, as they have always been excellent! (Yves Beck 2024) - Delivery in wooden crates is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Rated estate (2020 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is undoubtedly the best value for money in Saint-Émilion, with its 29 hectares located on a terroir dominated by sandy soils. The owner, François Despagne, has worked tirelessly to achieve this result, with a commitment to organic farming that contributes to the success of the wine. This Saint-Émilion combines vigor, silkiness, aromatic distinction, and superb evolution over time. A tasting from 2016 back to 1947 allowed us to perfectly identify the style of the vintage, which has a finesse and harmony superior to many "modern" classified growths. As it evolves, it can resemble a great Pomerol in several vintages.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the estate:

In 2019, this great wine has breath and energy, which respond to the clay soils. It has great aging potential. With more tension, texture, a hint of licorice, and peppery tannins, the 2018 is not quite ready yet but promises a bright future. The 2015 vintage, with its blood-red color, develops a richness of frank and powerful tannins with a stylish straightforwardness.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is fruity, fresh, precise, well-defined, and offers complexity in finesse, depth, and delicacy. It reveals notes of boysenberry, lilac, and, more subtly, small blue berries...

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100

About wine:

As soon as the wine is poured, aromas of mint, chocolate, espresso, flowers, and red stone fruits burst from the glass. Then, the palate steals the show with notes of perfectly ripe black cherries and plums and a silky texture. This is a hedonistic wine that combines freshness, elegance, and purity with a long finish. A blend of 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2047.
