"Praised by the press, this is a magnificent ORGANIC estate that every Right Bank enthusiast should know about!"

"What definition, freshness and depth in the bouquet of Grand Corbin-Despagne 2022! Like the winemaker, the wine is precise, detail-oriented, with a luminous eloquence; it speaks and is happy to be there. Beautiful fusion of cherry, licorice wood and peony notes. On the palate, the wine stands out for its harmony, for its ability to create the link between freshness and vigor, between precision and fullness. A wine that is salivating, thirst-quenching, demanding and persistent. A great success and certainly one of François Despagne's best wines, which doesn't downgrade the previous ones, since it's always been good! Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is certainly the best value for money in Saint-Émilion, with its 29 hectares situated on a terroir dominated by sand. Owner Francois Despagne has worked tirelessly to achieve this result, with an organic commitment that contributes to the cru's success. This Saint-Émilion reconciles vigor, silkiness, aromatic distinction and superb evolution over time. A tasting from 2016 to 1947 enabled us to perfectly define the style of the cru, which possesses a finesse and harmony superior to many "modern" style crus classés. As it evolves, it can resemble a great Pomerol over several vintages.

Guide Hachette des vins

Guide Hachette des vins

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the domain :

In 2019, the great wine has breath and energy, which respond to the clays. Great ageing awaits. More about tension, touch, a hint of licorice and peppery tannins, the 2018 isn't quite there yet, but bodes well for the future. The 2015, with its bloody juice, develops a richness of straightforward, powerful tannins with stylish uprightness.

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fruity, fresh, precise and well-defined, offering complexity, finesse, depth and delicacy. It reveals notes of boysenberry, lilac and, more lightly, small blue berries...

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100

About the wine:

As soon as the wine is poured, aromas of mint, chocolate, espresso, flowers and red stone fruits burst from the glass. Then the palate steals the show with notes of black cherries and perfectly ripe plums, with a silky texture. This is a hedonistic wine, combining freshness, elegance and purity with a long finish. Blend of 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink between 2027 and 2047.
