"Rave reviews from experts: excellent, magnificent, delicious..."

“Dark, brooding aromas on the nose; a beautiful, smooth, tight, and full-bodied texture on the palate with fine yet dense tannins that lend the fruit a chewy texture. Round and straightforward, with savory notes of black licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, and clove spices that define the finish, thanks to the Petit Verdot. A bold, characterful style with everything it needs right now. Wait a few years before opening.” (Decanter 2022) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2016 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

One of the largest estates in the appellation, covering 24 hectares surrounding a shaded park and an 18th-century château in the Figeac area, between Libourne and Saint-Émilion. A cru first mentioned in 1886 and classified since 1955. Industrialist Alain Château, its fifth owner, who took over in 2005, renovated the entire property—including the vineyards and buildings—and enlisted the services of Denis Dubourdieu.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

This is a delicious wine, bursting with overripe Merlot and rich tannins. Its structure lies beneath its generous fruitiness, while spices and pepper add a touch of exoticism. The wine is ready to age. Best enjoyed starting in 2025.

Vinous

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

The 2019 Yon-Figeac is magnificent. Overripe black cherry, plum, leather, spices, menthol, chocolate, and dried herbs take center stage in this Saint-Émilion, which showcases the year’s more exuberant side. It possesses real depth and substance. Sweet spices, cedar, and tobacco develop through to the powerful finish. 2024–2039

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Aromas of cherries and berries with hints of bark and dried flowers. Mushrooms, too. The wine is medium-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins and a creamy, polished finish. Lovely texture and great finesse, without compromising on structure or length. Best enjoyed in 2024, but it will age very well, too.

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

Wine rated (2023 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

A dark, intense, beautiful, and deep color. A very aromatic nose with lovely ripe and fresh fruit notes. Meticulously crafted on the palate, delicately full-bodied in the middle, the wine develops into a juicy, flavorful wine that is both smooth and lively. It has a long finish, is very good, and full of character.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2021 guide) 91-92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fresh and offers good concentration, intensity, and depth. It reveals notes of juicy wild blackberry, gray pepper, and, more subtly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of blackcurrant, lily, and spices, as well as a subtle touch of camphor and licorice. The palate is fruity and balanced, offering juiciness, a tangy structure, minerality, freshness, a certain depth, a hint of tension, richness, and a fresh, delicate texture. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, crushed raspberry, and, more subtly, pulpy redcurrants, combined with hints of lily, licorice, chocolate, and subtle notes of toasted almond. Good length. A subtle saline note on the finish/aftertaste.
