Yon Saint-Martin is the second wine of Château Yon-Figeac, a Grand Cru Classé of St-Emilion. Neighboring Cheval Blanc, it has one of the largest vineyards in the appellation. This 2004 has a beautiful clear garnet-purple color. Its nose develops aromas of black and red fruits with subtle peppery notes. On the palate, the wine is round, with ripe, supple tannins. A pleasant wine ready for drinking!

About the estate:
One of the largest estates in the appellation, covering 24 hectares surrounding a shaded park and an 18th-century château in the Figeac area, between Libourne and Saint-Émilion. A cru first mentioned in 1886 and classified since 1955. Industrialist Alain Château, its fifth owner, arrived in 2005 and renovated the entire estate, including the vineyard and buildings, enlisting the services of Denis Dubourdieu.

Welcome gift on 1 day 1 wine. At half price, the value for money is excellent because the wine is good, long-lasting, and balanced.

Disappointing for the second wine of Yon-Figeac. It seems very closed. I'll leave it in the cellar for a few years.
