2025 Highlights

“With a lively attack, this wine unfolds with a clean, fresh profile ~ Yves Beck”

“A fragrant, floral nose. Supple and lively, it offers lovely, relaxed notes of blueberry and fresh mint, with a lively acidity in the background—not at all harsh, but rather enhancing the overall profile. A fairly straightforward style, yet very well defined, with enticing acidity and a finish so clean and precise, enhanced by a touch of chalky graphite and slate, that really makes you want to have another sip. Powerful, yet supple and approachable. Very true to its terroir. The finish is so successful that you immediately want another glass. ” (Decanter 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2021 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

After passing Cos d’Estournel, and facing Lafon-Rochet, the two towers of Lilian-Ladouys rise from a sea of vines. This 47-hectare estate was purchased by Jacky Lorenzetti in September 2008. As at Pédesclaux, Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen oversees the winemaking. Dense and colorful, the wines are instantly appealing. The archetype of a super Bordeaux.

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

In the 14th century, La Doys was a farmstead belonging to Lafite. After enjoying its heyday at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries under the name Château Ladouys, this estate had virtually disappeared. It was revived (and renamed after his wife) by Christian Thiéblot in the 1980s, then by Natexis starting in 1989. In 2008, there was another change of ownership with Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti (Pédesclaux in Pauillac), who sold their network of real estate agencies to invest in the vineyard. They undertook a major restructuring program for the 45 hectares of vineyards.

About the estate:

After passing through the hands of several owners who did not always know how to realize its potential, the unassuming Château Lilian Ladouys was purchased by businessman Jacky Lorenzetti in 2008. Lorenzetti, who subsequently acquired Château Pédesclaux in Pauillac and Château Lafon Rochet in Saint-Estèphe, has grand ambitions for his wines. Lilian Ladouys, which has undergone extensive renovations in recent years, has found a very respectable rhythm over the past few vintages. The wine deserves the attention of wine lovers.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 92-93/100

About the wine:

Half of the Merlot grapes used in the blend come from vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils. Notes of blackcurrant and peppermint bridge the gap between the wine’s dark and bright sides, between freshness and ripeness! Sleek on the palate, the wine unfolds with linearity and freshness. Its velvety tannins, in harmony with the crisp acidity, provide a solid foundation, and the wine gains depth across the palate. The power of Lilian-Ladouys is well-channeled, and it’s clear that freshness was prioritized in what is, all things considered, a powerful wine! 2029–2045

About the wine:

Deep purple in color with violet highlights. A rich nose with aromas of blackberries, elderberries, and ripe mulberries. Supported by subtle oak and notes of coffee. On the palate, the wine is well-structured, with flavors of ripe fruit, coffee, and dark chocolate, accompanied by subtle oak and a lovely, lingering finish.
