Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 14.5/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the wine:
Powerful aromas of black fruit, licorice, and violet; fairly pronounced oak; a generous and very warm palate, with firm tannins that will need to soften; good length and potential.
About the estate:
This unassuming 14-hectare estate, located right next to Haut-Marbuzet on the same plateau, offers a fine representation of the terroirs of Saint-Estèphe. However, the high proportion of Merlot in the blends gives the wine a deliberately charming and flattering style.

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2018 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)
About the wine:
Although still dominated by oak, this wine is nonetheless intriguing, with an expressive bouquet featuring vanilla and roasted (mocha) notes from its aging, through which hints of tart fruit shine through. On the palate, a lively tannic structure and a finish of wild berries and spices suggest good aging potential.
