This unassuming 14-hectare château, located in the immediate vicinity of Haut-Marbuzet on the same plateau, offers a fine representation of the Saint-Estèphe terroirs. However, the high proportion of Merlot in the blends gives the wine a deliberately charming and flattering style.

Dark garnet-red color. Opulent nose of raspberry and cocoa. A powerful, slightly sap-like attack, full-bodied and rich with ripe black fruit, accented by hints of forest floor, mocha, and leather, enveloped by sweet spices and an elegant, well-integrated oakiness. These beautiful flavors express themselves in perfect balance against a backdrop of dense, well-integrated, and polished tannins, with a supple and velvety texture enhanced by a meticulously balanced touch of acidity. This refined wine lingers for a long time in a creamy finish. Very well-aged, well-structured, and complete, with the added bonus of guaranteed aging potential through at least 2030. A must-buy by the case if possible, given its exceptional quality and attractive price. Offering voluptuous and smooth sensations at its peak, this gourmet Petit Bocq is just begging to be paired with refined, tender dishes, such as pheasant salmis accompanied by braised endives. Rating = 4.5.
