“What a lovely surprise! A top-notch value for money—full-bodied, concentrated, and silky.”
" Favorite , a lovely Saint-Julien that derives its tenderness from a predominance of Merlot (60%). Subtle smoky oak blends with ripe black fruit and menthol in a refined nose. Comfortable from the first sip, with a very silky texture, the palate builds in power gradually, unfolding a smooth, caressing body, interwoven with peppery, well-integrated tannins. Add to this a long, fresh, and fruity finish, and you have a Saint-Julien that is simply superb, with a singularly refined texture.” (Guide Hachette 2026)

About the wine:
Favorite , this is a lovely Saint-Julien that derives its tenderness from a dominant Merlot blend (60%). Subtle smoky oak notes blend with ripe black fruit and menthol in a refined bouquet. Comfortable from the first sip, with a very silky texture, the palate builds in power gradually, unfolding a smooth, caressing richness interwoven with peppery, well-integrated tannins. Add to this a long, fresh, and fruity finish, and you have a Saint-Julien that is simply superb, with a singularly refined texture. 2030–2037
About the estate:
As its name suggests, the soil of this vineyard—which was separated from Château Lagrange in 1964 and is located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle along the “Route des Grands Vins” that runs alongside the Gironde River—is rather poor. A disadvantage for all other crops, but an advantage for high-quality vines. Acquired in 1982, it is one of the Meffre family’s Bordeaux estates.

About the wine:
This wine, still very young, offers spicy and toasty aromas, along with notes of dark fruit. It will develop into a great wine, rich and full-bodied. Its acidity will mellow with age. Best enjoyed starting in 2027.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
Notes of hazelnut, chocolate, and cedar blend with black cherries and blackcurrants. There is also a hint of paprika and white pepper. Ripe, full-bodied, and well-structured, it features polished tannins and a long, pleasantly velvety finish. It will need another year to allow the oak to integrate more fully.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2023 guide) 93-94/100
About the wine:
This unclassified Saint-Julien is a delightful surprise from the 2022 vintage, with Merlot making up 60% of the blend and the remainder Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is floral, evoking redcurrants, and quite bright. The palate is juicy, with well-defined tannins; it offers concentration and a sweetness balanced by a touch of acidity—a truly delightful treat!
