Château Talbot
Château Talbot stands on the edge of an ocean of vines on the Saint-Julien-Beychevelle plateau. Managed by Lorraine Cordier and Nancy Bignon-Cordier, the daughters of Jean Cordier. Château Talbot, a Grand Cru Classé in the Saint-Julien AOC, benefits from know-how handed down through many generations. Château Talbot's vines are planted on a terroir of fine Günzian gravel, covering an area of 107 hectares, of which only 5 hectares are reserved for white wine production. For the reds, the grape varieties are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (67% of the vineyard), which brings tannic structure and power to the wine, complemented by 27% Merlot, which offers roundness and smoothness. Petit-Verdot (4%) is used in dashes, like spices in gastronomy. The white grape varieties are 80% Sauvignon and 20% Sémillon. The wines of the Saint-Julien appellation, including Château Talbot, are distinguished by their natural finesse and accomplished balance. Their style forms a magnificent link between the finesse of Margaux wines and the power of Pauillac wines.
