Château Talbot
Château Talbot stands on the edge of a sea of vines on the Saint-Julien-Beychevelle plateau. It is run by Lorraine Cordier and Nancy Bignon-Cordier, the daughters of Jean Cordier. Château Talbot, a Grand Cru Classé of the Saint-Julien AOC, benefits from expertise passed down through many generations. The vineyards of Château Talbot are planted on a terroir of fine Günzian gravel, covering an area of 107 hectares, of which only 5 hectares are reserved for the production of white wine. The red wine grape varieties are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (67% of the cultivated area), which brings tannic structure and power to the wine, complemented by 27% Merlot, which offers roundness and smoothness. Petit Verdot (4%) is used sparingly, like spices in gastronomy. For white wines, the grape varieties are 80% Sauvignon and 20% Sémillon. The wines of the Saint-Julien appellation, including those of Château Talbot, are distinguished by their natural finesse and perfect balance. Their style forms a magnificent link between the finesse of Margaux wines and the power of Pauillac wines.
